The Move-Out Clean Checklist

Bathrooms:

  1. Clean and disinfect the toilet, including the bowl, seat, and tank.

  2. Scrub the bathtub, shower, and tiles, removing any mold or mildew.

  3. Clean the sink and vanity, including the mirror.

  4. Wipe down all surfaces, including countertops, shelves, and cabinets.

  5. Clean the exhaust fan and air vents.

  6. Sweep and mop the floors.

  7. Empty and clean the bathroom trash can.

Additional Areas:

  1. Clean the entryway, including the front door and doormat.

  2. Sweep or vacuum stairs and hallways.

  3. Dust and wipe down handrails and banisters.

  4. Clean the laundry room, including the washer, dryer, and countertops.

  5. Wipe down baseboards throughout the house.

  6. Clean any additional rooms or areas specified in the agreement.

General Tasks:

  1. Empty and clean all trash cans throughout the house.

  2. Dust and wipe down light switches and electrical outlets.

  3. Clean all door frames and handles.

  4. Vacuum or sweep and mop all non-carpeted floors.

  5. Clean all windowsills and ledges.

  6. Remove any cobwebs from ceilings and corners.

  7. Perform a final walkthrough to ensure everything is cleaned to the agreed-upon standards.

Living Room:

  1. Remove all personal belongings and trash.

  2. Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including furniture, shelves, and electronics.

  3. Vacuum and mop the floors.

  4. Clean windows, including frames, sills, and glass.

  5. Clean light fixtures and ceiling fans.

  6. Spot clean walls and remove any marks.

  7. Vacuum upholstery and clean any stains.

  8. Clean the fireplace (if applicable).

  9. Check and clean air vents.

Kitchen:

  1. Clean all empty cabinets and drawers.

  2. Remove all food and debris from the refrigerator and freezer, and clean the interior.

  3. Scrub the oven, stove, and range hood thoroughly.

  4. Scrub the sink.

  5. Wipe down countertops, backsplash, and tiles.

  6. Clean the dishwasher, inside and out.

  7. Clean all small appliances, such as the microwave and toaster.

  8. Sweep and mop the floors.

  9. Remove any trash and dispose of it properly.

Bedrooms:

  1. Remove all personal items and trash.

  2. Dust and wipe down all surfaces.

  3. Vacuum and mop the floors.

  4. Clean windows, including frames, sills, and glass.

  5. Clean reachable light fixtures and ceiling fans.

  6. Spot clean walls and remove any marks.

  7. Vacuum upholstery and clean any stains if possible.

  8. Check and clean air vents.
